Mumbai felicitates Prof. T. N. Krishnan
On Saturday, December 20th, 2008, Prof. T. N. Krishnan was felicitated by all the major music organizations of Mumbai in a function organized under the auspices of the venerable Shanmukhananda Sangeetha Sabha. Priests and Vedic scholars presented the maestro with pooja offerings from all the major temples in the Mumbai metropolitan area.

Speaking on the occasion, Sri V. Shankar, President of Shanmukhananda offered a concise yet thorough retrospective of Prof. T. N. Krishnan's illustrious 73-year career in classical music. Sri. Amarnath Sury, Sri. Jayaram Mani, and Sri. V. Rangaraj also added their memories of association with Sri T.N. Krishnan over the many decades.

The executive members of the Shanmukananda Sabha presented Prof. T. N. Krishnan and his children, Viji Krishnan Natarajan, and Sriram Krishnan with three beautiful brushed gold Violins as mementos.
The evening concluded with a violin trio concert of Prof. T. N. Krishnan, Viji Krishnan Natarajan, and Sriram Krishnan. They were joined by Tiruvarur Sri. Bhaktavatsalam on Mridangam, and Vaikom Sri. Gopalakrishnan on Ghatam.
